Deacon Kevin McCarthy grew up in the Georgetown section of Washington DC. He graduated from Dematha Catholic High School and completed his education at the University of South Carolina where he met his wife Molly. The McCarthy's raised their two daughters in Marietta, Georgia. The McCarthy family was very involved in the life of their parish, particularly in youth ministry. It was during this time that Kevin felt called to the diaconate. He was ordained in the Archdiocese of Atlanta in 1991, becoming the first deacon to serve in his large metropolitan parish. In 1995, Kevin’s job in the packaging industry prompted a move to Mississippi. There, for thirteen years, he served as the deacon in a rural mission church. In 2007 Kevin was made Vice President of Accredo Packaging headquartered in Sugar Land. He is happy to be assigned as a deacon here at St. Angela’s as we grow our new parish community.
