Be My Disciples Curriculum
Be My Disciples shares the Christian story in a catechumenal methodology, using reflection on Scripture and doctrine, plus a prayer celebration in every class and during all the major seasons of the Church year. It initiates children into the community of faith and challenges them to discipleship.
Help students look at Scripture stories and their relevance in a new way, with bright and appealing artwork that begs a story to be told — and told again.
Our Be My Disciples program will help you meet the needs of the students and families you serve as they grow in the knowledge of their
faith and live as disciples of Jesus.
Using a balanced approach, Be My Disciples is an innovative religion curriculum that empowers students and their families to answer the call to discipleship. This approach is validated by new insights in education today.

Home & Family Option
As an option, for families who cannot fit our KIDs Club times into their family schedule, we offer home based Catechesis for children in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. The program is a 26 lesson program. This can be taught at home under the parent’s discretion in the form of one lesson per week or every other week through the entire year. This option also requires participation in an introductory meeting and 2 parent child sessions throughout the year. The year closes with a family interview.
1st Reconciliation (also called Penance or Confession) & 1st Eucharist (also called Communion) Sacramental Preparation
The usual time for the preparation for these two sacraments of initiation is 2nd Grade. However, if the child is baptized and has not received these sacraments please indicate on your registration form or call the office. There is an Archdiocesan requirement of one previous year of formation prior to preparing for the sacraments.
This can be accomplished by attending 1st Grade CCE (KIDs Club), Catholic School, or the previous year in some other preparation process. If your child does not fit into this form, please contact Deb Bingham to work out how best to care for your child’s sacramental needs.
Those children preparing for sacraments will study these sacraments within their 2nd Grade curriculum. Parents will also be asked to attend parent meetings and parent child sessions. Parents, as the primary educators of their children will be asked to complete the immediate preparation books with the children. Resources and training will be provided.
