The Sacrament of Confirmation for Adults in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston is celebrated twice a year in various assigned parishes.
The celebration of the sacrament takes place on or near the following feasts,- Feast of the Baptism of the Lord - January
- Pentecost Sunday (usually in June)

The ProcessYou may qualify to join the sacramental process to receive and celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation if,
- you are 18 years and older,
- have been baptized, and
- have received your First Eucharist in the Catholic Church.

The Sponsor
The Sacrament of Confirmation requires the candidate to be accompanied by a Sponsor, spiritual support, and companion.
Use this guide to find a good sponsor.
If you can’t seem to find a qualifying sponsor, ask during the initial meeting and we can assign you a practicing Catholic to be your sponsor. If you have a person in mind that can fulfill the role of your sponsor, ask him/her to fill the SPONSOR FORM

Confirmation Name"The name of a saint, chosen by the person to be confirmed and imposed by the bishop in Confirmation. Added to the Christian name, it gives the person confirmed a heavenly patron whom he should endeavor to imitate.” NEW CATHOLIC DICTIONARY
If your name is based on a Christian name, you may want to keep your baptismal name for the sacrament of Confirmation, however, if this is not the case, you are encouraged to choose a saint of your devotion or one you want to know more about. This saint will become your spiritual companion for the rest of your life.
