St. Angela's Legion of Mary celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima

The Legion of Mary is the largest apostolic organization of lay people in the Catholic Church under the powerful leadership of Mary Immaculate, Mediatrix of All Graces, that serves the Church and their neighbor on a voluntary basis. The unit of the Legion of Mary is called a praesidium. Our Prae-sidium is called Mother of Mercy.
We hold a weekly meeting (Monday’s at 5:00pm) where prayer is intermingled with reports and discussion. The Legion members participate in the life of the parish through visitation of families, the sick, both in their homes, hospitals or assistant living facilities through collaboration in every apostolic and missionary undertaking sponsored by the parish.
Every legionary is required to carry out a weekly apostolic work in the spirit of faith and in union with Mary. Some apostolic works are: Pilgrim Virgin Visitation, distributing Holy Communion to homebound parishioners, assistant living facilities and the County Jail. We also do monthly Novena Coordination, some members are catechists, prepare and distribute prayer packs to Back to School program, leading the prayer of the rosary in wakes and church, crafting rosaries for distribution, etc.
We maintain the Blessed Mother Statue at the Narthex and insure that fresh flowers adorn it each week. We have auxiliary members who are the praying wing of the Legion army.
Our Praesidium is under the guidance of our spiritual directors Father Joy and Kathleen Messina.

Junior Legion of MaryThe Junior Legion of Mary is an association of Catholics affiliated to the LEGION OF MARY that has been long organized here at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church.
The Junior Presidium is geared towards children less than 18 yrs. of age. As Louis Marie De Montford puts it; we intend to fashion our children into a legion of valiant soldiers of Jesus and Mary. Its mission is to enable youth to progress victoriously in wisdom ,age, and grace before God and His people.We meet every Sunday at 1:00PM for our regular meetings.REQUIREMENTS FOR JUNIOR MEMBERS (As per handbook)- Attendance to regular weekly (sessions of at least one hour )
- Saying the daily Holy Rosary.
- Receive the Holy Communion not less frequently than once a month.
- Members will be encouraged towards apostleship and evangelization by works assigned to them during the meeting.
